1986: Bruce Hornsby & The Range reached #1 in the US singles chart, with “The Way It Is”, a No 15 hit in the UK. This provocative pop magnum opus was written by Bruce Hornsby and brother John Hornsby that projected waves of political overtones of the seemingly forgotten era of the Civil Rights Movement.
