Sassy all-girl band The Bangles were at #2 on the UK singles chart with “Manic Monday” which was written by Prince under the pseudonym Christopher, it also made no 2 in the US while Prince occupied the top spot with “Kiss”.
15 March 1989: The Rolling Stones signed a $70 million contract to play 50 North American dates. It remains the largest contract in rock history.
