21 April 1984: Phil Collins started his two week run at #1 in the US singles chart with the theme “Against All Odds”. This power ballad was his first US #1.,a #2 in the UK.
Phil Collins is a former child actor and model who appeared in the stage version of Oliver, an extra in the Beatles’ movie “A Hard Day’s Night” and featured as well in a mail-order knitwear catalogue.
The song appears on the video game Karaoke Revolution Volume 3 and can be downloaded for the game Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol Encore.
Weak cover versions pursued in recent years which have actually become common place with many of these eighties gems.
