Missing in action

Howard Jones, another let down from the eighties that disappeared into obscurity, created enough pop presence to be sorely missed in the last two decades. Using a borrowed synthesizer while employed as a fruitand veg salesman he managed to gig around pubs in his native High Wycombe. Compensation money from his wife's injuries in a car smash enabled him to get some proper equipment and spend more time in the studio. Excellent hits in 1983, NEW SONG and WHAT IS LOVE? pursued and THINGS CAN ONLY BE BETTER made both US and UK TOP 10. In 1989 he released EVERLASTING LOVE single making US Top 20. Further committment remained questionable probably due to his vegetarian lifestyle. Unfortunately, come backs never really work unless you are Duran Duran.
