Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler had her only UK#1 single “Total Eclipse of The Heart”, written by Meat Loaf’s producer, Jim Steinman. Apparently at the time she was the only Welsh artist to score a US number one.
12 March 1988: Pop juggernaut Rick Astley started his two week run at #1 on the US single chart with the evergreen “Never Gonna Give You Up”, also a #1 hit in the UK.
