13 March 1987: Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band received a star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Bryan Adams’ “Heat of the Night” became the first commercially released cassette single in the US. It was packaged in a red plastic case in a non-traditional cassette box and the white cover had to be torn off to get to the cassette. This popular hit won the Canadian Music Publisher’s Association Rock Song of the Year Award.
