Livin’ on a Prayer: Bon Jovi’s signature song

On 18 February 1987 Bon Jovi reached #1 on the US chart with their sublime “Livin’ on a Prayer” and made #4 on the other side of the pond. The band had changed their musical approach with a personnel change by hiring professional Desmond Child and Bruce Fairbairn was chosen as the producer of the album. “Livin’ on a Prayer” was their second single from their “Slippery When Wet” album which was the brainchild of John Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora and Desmond Child. Sambora had reworked the original recording with a new bass line, different drum fills and the use of a talk box (is that what its called?) to include it on the album.
