The Retroscope: 11 April
11 April 1981: Hall and Oates started their three week run at #1 on the US singles chart with “Kiss on my List”, their second #1, a #33 hit in the UK. The track was written by Jana Allen and Daryl Hall and produced by Hall and Oates. It became their second Billboard Hot 100 #1 single after “Rich Girl” in 1977. Apparently Hall claims that Eddie Van Halen copied the synth part of this song for their smash hit “Jump” by Van Halen.
