The latter part of 2010 proved, well, unexpected with the chart heriocs of the elegant pop duo, Hurts. There is the frontman, Theo Hutchcraft, looking like a Bros throwback - great! and his pensive partner, Adam Anderson on synthesizers (sounds familiar? Pet Shop Boys, eh, Erasure perhaps...). Their impressive debut single, "Better than love" sounds like a late Depeche Mode Track with amourous themes and the music video has a famous Romanian actress named Laura Cosoi with a host of other "Girls on film". Theo was also peculiarly dressed as Phil Oakey of the equally stylish The Human League. Hurts have made the official shortlist for XFM New Music Awards which could prove the catalyst to a promising career that would appeal to fans of 80's music. Those days will never come back but maybe, just maybe we have something better.
